Our Agenda

The viewing time for "NGOs in Kenya" is approximately 30 minutes. Here's our Agenda:
1. We will begin with an introduction to Kenya, led by the kids from "Kids Explore Kenya", a video produced by Children's International.

2. A general introduction to NGOs (non-governmental organizations) in Kenya will be provided.

3. Next, we will consider the Strengths of NGOs as we talk with: Mr. Nazim Mitha, the Program Officer for Partnerships and Fundraising at UNICEF Kenya & Dr. Patricia Kameri-Mbote, the Director of Research at ACTS, the African Centre for Technology.

4. Next, we will discuss the Weaknesses of NGO as we talk with: Dr. Constance Freeman, the Director of IDRC East Africa, Mr. Mitha and Dr. Mbote.

5. We will learn more about the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) of NGOs from Mr. Timothy Takona of UNICEF Kenya, Dr. Freeman, and Dr. Mbote.

6. NGO Spotlights: We will go onsight with John from GOAL Kenya's Street Children's Project. We will also go onsight with Farouk Jiwa from Honey Care Africa, a unique NGO-like private sector organization.

7. Lastly, we will hear some recommendations from Dr. Mbote as to how NGOs in Kenya can be made even more effective.
