In-Depth NGO Monitoring and Evaluation
The ForeignAID Ratings NGO evaluation model assesses the capacity of NGOs and other institutions.  Based on the NGO Star of Excellence TM Evaluation System, the model considers the following criteria: Social Impact, Institutional Development, Financial Efficiency and Sustainability, Accountability, and Non-Violence/Patriot Act compliance.

Information from the NGO Star Evaluation System not only allows grantors and partners to measure the social impact of their NGO investments, but also acts as an internal system of checks and balances for an NGO to better understand its core competencies and areas for improvement.  The model is designed to:

·          Identify high-impact NGOs by creating and administering a versatile, intelligent and consistent social value certification model

·          Provide a benchmark for donors to measure the social impact of their NGO investments

·          Increase donor investments to NGOs by identifying high-impact NGOs through clear, transparent and unbiased information

·          Act as an internal system of checks and balances for an NGO to improve its effectiveness by highlighting strengths and weaknesses

·          Promote partnerships by increasing information-sharing and communication amongst NGOs, the private sector and potential donors

ForeignAID rated NGOs are assigned a rating grade from AAA+ (highest) to D- (lowest), and organizations rated BB and above are declared ForeignAID Certified.
