ForeignAid Ratings for International NGOs & Religious Charities

ForeignAid Ratings and Certifications for INGOs and religious charities differ slightly from those for local NGOs.

Ratings for INGOs follow the NGO Star Evaluation System with emphasis added on the strength of the INGO's Design, Monitoring and Evalution (DME) System. The INGO's internal social impact assessments are utilized wherever possible to reduce the likelihood to replication. The Transparency score receives a higher weight and the Institutional Development criteria receive a lower weight than in the basic model.

Ratings for Religious Charities also follow The NGO Star Evaluation System. In addition to the criteria assessed by the NGO Star, another criterion is added: Level of Religious Function. This criterion considers the amount of resources spent on strictly religious activities such as
religious teaching, distribution of religious texts, and building of places of worship, and the level of active proselytization.
