Target
Community: The teens and young adults of Razgrad, Bulgaria, a small town east of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria.
Community Need
/ Program Relevance:
Bulgaria’s GDP per capita
is about $1600 (PPP Adjusted - $5710); the average salary is about
$150 per month. This provides a perspective on the annual budget of
the Youth Forum 2001. Razgrad, where the NGO is situated is one of the
least wealthy towns in the country. Even though there are no major
ethnic, environmental or security threats in the town, people leave
due to a very high (about 20%) unemployment and lower than average
salaries.
