Strategic Planning and Conference and Management Services TEPHINET Annual Board Meeting, Beijing,
China, November 2004 ForeignAID Ratings LLC developed a strategic plan for The Training Programs in Epidemiology and Public Health Interventions Network (TEPHINET), a non-profit global health organization headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, which was established in 1997 to strengthen international public health capacity through initiating, supporting and networking of field-based training programs that enhance competencies in applied epidemiology and public health practice. ForeignAID Ratings was commissioned to use its organizational development framework to analyze the institutional development and financial sustainability of TEPHINET, analyzing the structure of the TEPHINET secretariat and the nature of its membership in Africa and Asia. ForeignAID Ratings made recommendations for strategies that TEPHINET can use to increase and solidify its membership base in order to become more financially self-sufficient and to increase programmatic impact and outreach. As a result, ForeignAID Ratings produced a Strategic Plan for TEPHINET Executive Director John Orr. ForeignAID Ratings’ Vice President of Health Initiatives, Dr. Vidya Bhushan Gupta, M.D., M.P.H., presented ForeignAID Ratings’ findings at and facilitated the TEPHINET Annual Board Meeting which was held during the TEPHINET Global Conference, “Bridging the Gap in Public Health Excellence through Global Networking,” November 8-12, 2004 in Beijing, China.
